Cork – a truly revolutionary material

It is an almost indestructible, water resistant, stain resistant, anti-mite, anti-fungal and anti-bacteria. It is also stretchy, breathable, hypoallergenic, as light as silk, smooth as velvet and warmer than leather.

The cork industry preserves biodiversity and maintains the ancestral know-how of cork workers. It should be noted that these forests play a large role in the fight against climate change. It is estimated that they hold a total of 14 million tons of carbon dioxide a year. A significant contribution to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Cork is a natural, sustainable and renewable material. The harvesting process has not changed for centuries. Every 9 to 12 years, the bark of the cork oak can be removed without felling the tree and its allows the tree to continue growing for more than 200 years.

Cork leather requires no maintenance, it can even become softer and look livelier over time. Even when you drink wine, you can simply clean it with a cloth soaked in soapy water.

Cork is used in leather goods, but remains rare in ready-to-wear.

Because today the protection of forests is a necessity and preserving the planet is one of our primary values, we decided to create a perfecto cork, which is a perfect ecological alternative to leather and PU.
